Turning chains don’t count as regular stitches, so omit them if you are checking your stitch count. (Fig. I)

CHANGE COLORS

When you are crocheting the last st with the old color, stop when you have the last 2 loops on hook. YO with the new color and pull it through the loops on hook. Cut the old color, and tie the two ends together on the inside. (Fig. J)

FASTEN OFF

To finish your piece, cut the yarn 3-4 inches from your hook (or more, if you will need the yarn end for sewing), and pull the end through the last loop on the hook.
